Curriculum Structure

The academic year in Turin is structured into four blocks of 6-7 teaching weeks, plus exam periods.

  • Fall: from mid-September to the end of October
  • Winter: from mid-November to mid-January (there is a Christmas break)
  • Spring: from mid-February to the end of March
  • Summer: from mid-April to the end of May

Students must gain 60 ECTS credits per year, including 30 ECTS reserved to the MA thesis in the second year. An overview of the curricular flow is given below. Each course adds up to 6 ECTS credits with the exception of Logic and Rationality, which amounts to 12 ECTS credits.

Here you find an overview of the courses taught in 2023/2024. You can find a complete description of the curriculum here (in Italian).

In addition to the courses listed below, students choose elective courses (12 ECTS) among all courses (in English) offered at the University of Turin. These can be philosophy courses in the PIC program, or courses offered by other departments . This means that students choose two elective courses of 6 ECTS each, and decide whether to take both of them in the first year, both of them in the second year, or one per year.
